About
Bloomfield
Thank
you for visiting our web site!
We have been breeding selectively and
exhibiting purebred dogs for approx. 17 years. Our kennel is built on
the foundation of careful research and planning. We began our commitment
to the Spaniel breeds with our first black and tan Cavalier King Charles
Spaniel, Ch. Castlewood's Metoo, the foundation of Bloomfield Kennels.
In 1991, we added our first English Springer Spaniel, Ch Rosen's Dealer
Bloomfield CD. In 1998 and 2000 our Cavaliers have placed in the top 5
in Canada.
The
priority of Bloomfield Kennels is to breed selectively to bring out the
best qualities in our dogs. While conformation is important, temperament
and good health come first. We believe first and foremost a dog must be
a compatible member of the family, regardless of the number of ribbons
it may win, and that he should give his family many healthy,
trouble-free years.
It
follows, therefore, that we are very selective of prospective buyers to
ensure our puppies a happy and secure home. Puppies are placed only in
homes where they will be part of the family, even if the intent is to
show the dog. A clause in our purchase agreement states that if your
circumstances change so that you no longer can care for the dog, the dog
comes back to Bloomfield, no matter what the age, no questions asked.
To
ensure an easy transition to the new home, our puppies are home-raised
and well socialized. Careful attention is given to note individual
temperaments so the right dog can be matched with the right owners. Our
care does not end at the time of sale, as we are available for support
and advice for the lifetime of the dog.
Our
breeding dogs are carefully screened, with careful attention given to
hereditary problems. Our Springers are x-rayed for Hip Dysplasia and
eyes are certified clear of inherited defects. Our Cavaliers are
regularly checked for heart and eye defects by board certified
specialists. All puppies are sold with a written guarantee of health and
temperament and a record of vaccinations, veterinary care, and feeding
schedule. CKC registration papers are included in the purchase price.
Puppies are sold on Non-Breeding Contracts initially. If someone is
interested in a show puppy / dog, individual contracts can be written up
at the time of purchase. Assistance is given to buyers intending to
show, to ensure an appropriate choice.

This website was designed by Nichole Wilton Elvebų. She received much
help from her cavalier, Bylly, who kept her lap warm during the entire
design process.
